Auto-Europe great, but Budget bummer

I dealt with Auto-Europe by phone and got a better price than online.Very helpful and polite: emailed vouchers etc arrived by return and the car was booked through Budget Car Rentals at Faro airport. All paperwork had been sorted, so good service there until car return. The clerk there -about whom I will be making a complaint- rudely accused me of not filling the tank and of scratching the car. I insisted on her taking the car back to the airport filling station: she could not get any more fuel in, but refused to apologise. She then had the car hosed down and the 'scratches' in the dust disappeared, so she called the manager and between them they claimed to find a small mark in a different place and charged me 50 euros off my credit card for polishing. They clearly knew that when you have to check in for a flight you cannot hang around to argue any more. I won't be using Budget again.
