A last minute booking to Spain was made for myself my 2 children and a friend who also had 2 children. We were to pay for our booking and our friends for theirs. Two days before we were due to travel the booking was finalised over the phone, I paid in full for our dream holiday. Next morning I got a early morning phone call from Expedia asking 'if we had details of our booking with them, as they didn't'. You can imagine how horrified we were, when we tried to re-schedule our booking we were told that our friends would need to pay 10pc more? Our friends refused and cancelled their booking. We didn't want to travel alone and with the time left decided to cancel. Expedia are refusing to refund my payment, I have had no contract from them despite my sending them 6 emails asking for my money. To-date no email was ever received confirming our itinerary so even if our booking was to proceed we had NO paperwork from them. I have email Expedia explaining that I need our money to pay for our holiday which we need to go on immediately as the children go back to school next week.
They have not responded. Their phone service is appalling, the times I get cut off, I've spend hours just hanging around only to be disconnected. My next stage is legal action.
