Faced with A Nightmarish Option Of Collectplus And YODEL Combined Handling My Day To Day Shipping!! YIKES!!! Where to turn to next?

C'mon! I'm not that dumb enough to go with them lot again, NO WAY! So I turned to FedEx. FedEx man came round and wasted both our times on the door step by having to ring his boss when he should have known the answer himself whether or not my package could be accepted. Prick FedEx man with a face on finally produced an answer... "nooooooah" he said, because he droned "they only offer the domestic option to customers who ship parcels on a regular basis." Well it was mainly my fault anyway because of poor research into the whole shipping thing. I had nowhere else to turn to. CollectPlus was a definite no, no. Time was running out and goods needed to be shipped out immediately!

In Comes Parcel2Go to Save the Day. Honestly it was not the option I wanted because of previous experiences and I wanted to deal with the carriers directly instead of having to deal with the middle man. I saw a sheer amount of positive 5 Star ratings here and skim read them all. No time though, I then thought "let’s go with em and hope for the best." The site was easy enough to navigate my way through; choose the carrier (TNT), make your payment and then print out the shipping label. I went with Amazon Payments this time to see what it was like. Smoooth!

Yeah, we're cooking on gas now I thought. From noon to 5:30PM now and I was bricking it. I heard something heavy and loud pull up, went outside to greet the TNT man and exchange papers and signatures and away we went. My customers where pleased with what they purchased and received in a timely manner. I was more than pleased with the service received from Parcel2Go. I'll be more than happy to deal with these guys again in future.

Thanks Parcel2Go for a brilliant service.

Just to note; don't go with myHermes or YODEL, especially YODEL. Just read through the reviews here. They maybe cheap, but its like they say - you get what you paid for.

Bestinthecountry

Well not exactly the bestinthecountry. I've had better, but they're okay.

Cool new red jum...wait a minute....!!!! Why is it blue? Okay, so I ordered red and you guys sent me blue and I quite like the colour and I decided to keep the jumper. I hear it’s going to be cold this winter and this will keep me warm while out and about. Besides; me sending it back won’t be worth it as the item is £7.86 (including tax) and P&P (Postage and packaging) is near enough £3.00 and me sending it back would be about the same and you people probably won't refund return postage so I'll be left with £2.02.

3 STARS!!!!

Amazon

Super-SLOW-saver Delivery

Has anyone noticed how stingy Amazon have become lately? First they put a limit on how much you need to spend for you to qualify for Supersaver Delivery, then they delay the delivery of goods till the following week.

3 stars AmazonUK.

Armynnavy

Yeah they're ok, I guess.

Oh fantastic. I’ve been looking for a type of combat trousers I only ever want wear for work for nearly a year after the one I had for 4years began to ware away.

So I done numerous searches online under many different names (name of the combat trousers) and I nearly gave up till I done one last search and I came cross these guys. I saw payment method was PayPal which was more than good enough for me because if anything went wrong, there be no middle man and it would have been left solely to the seller to resolve any deputes as they see fit.

Anyway....PAYPAL YAY - I didn’t even think about it, I went right on in there and brought 2 pairs.

A couple days later it came, but the bag one of the pairs was in was opened and the other was not which suggest to me the opened one could have been tried on by someone else before he sent it back. It was neatly packed though... yup.

Anyway so I soaked it in disinfectant and bunged it in the wash. It’s the reason for 3 stars otherwise it would have been 5.

Safetysavers

WHERE’S MY REFUND?!!

I wanted to send an item back. I sent an email and the next day, there was no reply. So, I went direct to the site and what became apparent to me straight off was the customer login was missing from the front page.
So to locate it, I had to click checkout to for the sign in field to appear. There was a £5 delivery charge and it cost me £3 to send it away. Seriously.... ?

Well its been more than 2 months now and still nowt from them in the way of my monies. So Safetysavers, where is my monies?

TNT Express

he came to the wrong house for collection

TNT Man came round to the wrong house to collect my package. I had to yell out to him to come round. If I had not come out my house to investigate, he would have left and there would have been no pick up for that day. He gave jokes about the weirdo on the door step on my street so all was quickly forgiven. :D

He took the package from me and he signed the necessaries and I too. I tracked the package from then on. Everything signed for and it was a smooth transaction for all.

I’m now a bit wary about going with them again given the amount of bad reviews here. I’ve had this before; “Dunno wut ya all on abut, man! Nah, dey dun a gr8 service for me” and boom it turns out to be shit like everyone’s been saying about them. Yeah, that YODEL experience.

I forgave the TNT man for coming to the wrong house. That don’t mean I’d forget it.

Fedex

UK Next Day Shipping

I always get my shipping next day, although sometimes very early in the morning, I always get my items. Well...there's that one time the FedEx man came round and everyone in my house was either too neurotic and/or anally spiteful to open the door to the man, and the FedEx guy left my parcel with the neighbour across the street. A good thing it wasn't left with the hard face cow next door. Fortunately, the guy across the street is a good guy.

FedEx are great as for as for UK deliveries?

Props FedEx.

Cableuniverse

Trusted Seller

I brought some items the other week which failed to reach my door. Fortunately, the seller shipped out another for me and it reached my door that time. My only grip is they slow walk delivery time, otherwise a good transaction. OH and BTW, they use PayPal.

Thanks CableUniverse

Zalando

They use YODEL as their courier. A good thing they have PayPal.

I purchased an item from Zalando that was 15 to 20 quid cheaper then if I were to get it from the source shop.

At first I was worried when I stumbled on the Zalando's knock down price, but I saw they had a payment processor PayPal and that warranted further investigating for me.

When I came here though, I was like “WTF, low ratings?” Comments like “items not as described” given by previous members and the fact they use YODEL was the main concern at the time, but I was desperate and I decided to take the plunge. Knowing what I’m like, I would have become the most difficult costumer they ever had the misfortune to deal with.

Fortunately for both sides, everything went smoothly. Zalando kept me updated throughout the morning with the status of delivery via SMS text messaging.

I will purchase from them again, but I’ll be mindful they use YODEL as their courier.

Aliexpress

BAD REVIEW RETRACTED - I GOT REFUNDED

I had to delete one bad review towards Aliexpress, because they refunded my monies to my account. I sent a letter of complaint to Aliexpress Complaints Department about a seller and although nothing was said about my complaint, the end of last month, I was refunded.
Will I shop there again? Personally, I wouldn’t chance it. Maybe I got lucky. I just wanted to put it out there that I got a refund is all.

Qtag

Refund Deductions - Steep P&P - £11 Down The Drain

I brought 1 pair of work trousers last week from QTag which were in the wrong size. Qtag's ridiculous, pointless policy is no sending items back in exchange for the correct size.

So, I sent it back (note; using £5 P&P RECORDED - stupid post office worker) and resubmitted my order in the correct size. *SIGH*
Total amount again came up to £21.62 including P&P, just like with the first transaction. Days later, I got refunded via PayPal to the sum of £15.62.

Now I'll think twice about purchasing from them again.
If I'm to return, (A BIG IF) I'll have to be cautious not to make wrongful purchases as they will deducted a whopping amount for returns. Nah forget it because it costs more in P&P for multiple items.

A good thing I didn't purchase two of em in incorrect sizes at once that time.

Never again!

Save on Laptops

I brought two laptops on 2 different occasions, delivered by DPD

I brought two laptops on 2 different occasions. Everything went smoothly. They're alright. Just to note; they use DPD to deliver items and they will deliver next day no matter what delivery option you choose. Buy online before 5pm and it'll arrive next day. :-)

Reasons for 4 stars for this transaction because nothing is perfect.

Sportsdirect

Very Quick Delivery

I ordered before 1pm and it came next day.

My only gripe with them is they use Yodel/HDNL. I'd be cautious in future buying from SportsDirect because of Yodel/HDNL.

WARNING! Avoid YODEL/HDNL - PARCEL AND DRIVER GO MISSING!!!

Okay so the buyer lived in Scotland and he wanted to send the TV back. No problem I said. So I sent the buyer instructions to return the item. It's pretty straight forward, a six year old could follow it. He sent it off and I began tracking it from then on. Then Parcel was held up at the HDNL Glasgow depot from Friday. It was still there over the weekend into the following week. After calling the assistant on the phone at YODEL/HDNL at the Glasgow depot, she said I have to contact CollectPlus. SIGH

I contacted CollectPlus and told them about the hold up and after I gave her an ear full, she finally got it to move from Glasgow to Sandwell depot. Phew. The parcel was out for delivery and was due to be at my door, only when I checked the tracking notice, it said it got delivered. HUH? To whom I thought? I haven't received anything. I've read bad reviews about YODEL/HDNL before hand, and I began to panic. I called CollectPlus and told them I didn't receive any item at my door from HDNL. She told me it was delivered to someone buy the name of ''Gale''. Well whose this ''Gale'' I asked? She said she'll check with the driver at the depot to see where he had delivered it to and will notify me of any updates by phone.

The next day came and all through out the day they hadn't replied. So I then had to make a phone call at my own expense. She told me the depot informed them the driver who delivered the parcel was off sick, but they'll notify me of any updates when the driver returns to work at the depot. So the next day came and again I had to make the call and waited another 10 minutes on the phone. She said they still haven't had anything new because the driver was still off sick. Suspicious.

I then replied ''will you definitely know who the driver is?'' She replied ''Oh yes, they will definitely know, because of time logs.'' I told her then to call me back on my phone if you have anything new. The weekend came and YET AGAIN I had to make the call and they had no new updates for me except to tell me the driver was STILL off sick. Okay. I then threatened to involve the Police.

My back was against the wall. Too much time was being wasted and the process was moving VERY SLOWLY. The male assistant at CollectPlus told me I should make a claim. I filled out the claims form and sent it in PDF format via email. The following week and again I had to make the call, and waited 7 minutes to talk to someone.

I wanted to check the status of my claim and he told me its still being processed. Okay, so I then asked him if he knows the where about of my parcel? He said "the driver still has not turned up at work which is a cause for concern'' and added ''so I'd follow through with the claim because you most likely never see it again.'' Two weeks later, I finally got a response in the form of a cheque sent to me to the sum of £106 pounds. I never had to refund a buyer on Amazon before and if I was fully aware of the partial refund feature on Amazon, I would have paid the full amount (£10/£200 cover) for the return of my TV. This whole experience has left me feeling very angry with myself.

I am normally a very curious person and totally I disregarded the shear amount of bad reviews on here, on Google and other review sites regarding YODEL aka HDNL. Evidence that HDNL/Home Delivery Network AKA YODEL deliver a bad service was all to see. All in all I lost £40 paying for the shipping and returns. £106 in refunds from Collect Plus doesn't total up to the complete value of the item plus delivery (£146.18). Verdict - CollectPlus = EPIC FAIL.

CollectPlus were very slow with dealing with my case - when you finally get to talk to someone at their office after an average waiting time of 10 minutes on the phone queues. Listening to the most annoying music going around in a continuous loop. I felt I had to galvanize them to DO something with investigating the whereabouts of my TV. Please, if you have any common sense at all (of which I was seriously LACKING OF at the time), you'll avoid Collect Plus and HDNL/Home Delivery Network AKA YODEL, because you only get what you pay for.
