Needs some serious flaws addressed!

Firstly even though the address was given as N.Ireland and the full post code supplied, the system did not automatically include the extra postage charge which resulted in shipment being delayed by several days.
Secondly on Thurs 23 Aug, I received a text asking me to select 1, 2 or 3 depending on which day I wanted delivery - I chose 3 for Fri 31 Aug
A text was returned acknowledging this.
Then on Tues 28 Aug, I received another text at 9AM saying my parcel would be delivered that morning but if I wished I could select 1, 2 or 3 to change the date. Again I chose 3 for Fri 31 Aug.
Within 30 mins a text came back confirming delivery would be changed to Fri 31 Aug.
I had now requested this twice because I was going away early on Tues 28 and would not be back until late Thurs 30 Aug.
As we left the house, my wife noticed a DPD UK van stop near the house....yes it was our parcel. Lucky it was still sitting on the front door step when we returned late Thurs 30 Aug.
What was the point in me texting twice that I wanted delivery on Fri 31 Aug when I knew I would be at home to receive the parcel?
What would have happened if this parcel had been stolen?
Sorry but you have serious system failures here that need to be addressed.

Hi Jeffrey, thanks for your review.

Regarding the postcode/charging the correct delivery amount, we are addressing this with some new website features that will properly charge for the correct postal area - the current system cannot handle such things so apologies for that but in the future this won't be an issue.

Regarding the DPD system, we have no control over it but I will pass on your comments to the person responsible for the contracts we sign with the carriers and no doubt he will ask for an explanation from DPD themselves. To put your mind at rest, should the parcel have been left without a signature and was subsequently lost, we would have been able to claim for that, and naturally we would have resent the product.
