I wouldn't normally shop at Primark, but we had a fancy dress party coming up and the clothes there are actually much cheaper than the throw away one's you get at a fancy dress shop - OK, we had to do a bit of work pull together an outfit, but then we had a good few hours and it was such a laugh! Still not sure I could ever use it for day-to-day clothes, but I can certainly understand why others think it's great.
Being a Brit it's hard to have eyes for anything but the BBC when it come to journalism, but great as they are the BBC tend to have a very British/slightly socialist view of world events - That's when I turn to CNN.
Many people forget that America is still the most powerful country on earth and getting a window onto an American take on world events can be really useful.
I'd never ditch the BBC, but it's refreshing to have a top class alternative.
I've been on Orange since I took a gap year in France and I haven't switched yet...why? Because they are the best!
For my sins at uni I did half a year on Saturdays at Phones4u and we all knew that Orange had the best coverage. And with Britain's archaic planning laws that is unlikely to ever change. They don't rip people off (at least they've always matched what I been offered elsewhere). All in all they have me for life!
I found compare&save while looking for a new credit card to transfer my balance to - and I managed to beat the deal my sister got by one month! (we always seem to switch around the same time and always compete to find the best deal)
OK, it's not much, but the upside is I now have almost 2 years whilst the value of off my balance depreciates at a steady 5% thanks to inflation (pretty amazed as the last card I got was only 18 months - are banks starting to lend again?)
I was looking on here the other day to get some free advice for what to do about savings and I thought it was really very useful.
What I especially like is that they don't try to break things down into little MTV generation style bits - they treat us like adults and give us all the facts there and then.
I stayed here 3 weeks ago when was up visiting my ma and pa and it was fantastic. It really felt like Manchester had come up in the world - like the Midland, but with more glitter! Fantastic.
The apple shop is a template for what all good shops should be. Friendly and intelligent staff are there to help and can for the most part answer any question you throw at them.
