I was looking for B&W subwoofer and found it at best price on HiFi Gear. Their web site said the item was not available online and invited to call them. It was almost 7pm, but I decided to call, and to my surprise the call was answered. They were able to check stock and confirmed availability within seconds and then guided me through the online buying process. I had a few questions after ordering and followed up with another call and an email - all were dealt with promptly. Ordered on Wednesday - arrived on Friday, properly packaged and marked "fragile". Excellent service, very fast delivery, best price! What more can you ask! Thanks and keep up the good work!
Placed an order online for 4 winter tyres (over £1000), paid by credit card, but immediately received email saying they want me to pay by bank transfer. I emailed back explaining that this option does not give me consumer protection against fraud, but they insisted this was the only way. I called to cancel the order - their customer service rep was very rude, by the way. At no time did they tell me why they did not accept credit card - they tried to make out that something was wrong with address cross-check. I offered them to provide further info/docs to prove address, but they refused. I cancelled the order and made a new one with different card - it was the same story. I now researched and saw reviews which said this company do not accept credit cards for orders over £400. This offers customers no protection at all if they fail to deliver, or deliver the wrong goods. This is a sign of very shortsighted company, who do not care about customers, and with customer service being so poor, I wrote to suggest people shouls stay well away, but... UPDATE: After posting the above comment and sending them an email to say I want to cancel my then second order and that I intend to tell their owner of my experience (and yes, I do have a friend in Hanover who knows the company's owners) I received a reply saying that they managed to charge my card after all and will dispatch the tyres shortly. I will leave it for readers to judge if this was an appropriate response and what it all meant, but suffice to say I decided to take the risk and wait for delivery. Things improved very fast from there. I got email same day with invoice and a confirmation of delivery in 7 days at the latest. In fact, the tyres arrived 3 days later - that's very fast, so big plus here! I have not seen them yet (writing this on day of delivery) so here keeping my fingers crossed that they are the right ones and in right condition, but already feeling better that they can get their act together and deliver a good service at the end. Hence, raising my rating from previous 1 star to 3 stars.
