Interestingly, I had no real problems with Scottish Power while my account was open with tme. My problems have been in trying to shake off their persitent correspondence with me after I left them.
I closed my account with Scottish Power in August and have been receiving e-mails (all headed, erroneously, 'An important communication from ScottishPower') from them at the rate of two or three a month ever since. I have made umpteen attempts to get them to stop sending them, but with no success. Here is one response I received from them (complete with typo):
'We have close your account on 15 August 2013. The e-mail which you have received is an automated e-mail we sent to all of our customers. Please ignore the automated e-mail.'
It is impossible to get them to understand that I am NOT a customer.
I change my energy supplier regularly, but I have to say that, next time I use a comparison site, even if Scottish Power comes out top, I will not switch to them.
Be aware that by signing up to this company, you are signing up for spam e-mail messages for (it seems) the rest of your life. Either the company cannot control its automated systems, or, more likely, it just cannot be bothered to do so.
What a disappointing experience trying to shop at B&Q yesterday: I wanted to buy a top of the range electric shower and intended to add some other items to make the total cost more than £350 in order to benefit from the much-advertised ‘25% off ALL kitchens, bedroom and bathrooms’ (for purchases of £350 or more). I tried to include duvet covers and was told these were not included in the ‘kitchen, bedroom, bathroom’ sale. When I asked the store manager, ‘Where would you put a duvet cover?’, his reply was, ‘I’m not going to discuss this with you.’ (Wonderful customer service!). Plan B was to use a Diamond Card to get 10% off my shower on a Wednesday. Guess what: The Diamond Card discount doesn’t apply to showers. I‘ve just ordered my expensive electric shower from Plumbworld and saved £25 on the total cost at B&Q.
When you look at the offers from B&Q, just remember, they come with so many qualifications and restrictions that they’re not worth the paper they’re written on, and their employees regard the rules of the company as much more important than the satisfaction of their customers.
I was looking for a source of reasonably priced Venchi chocolate cigars as a little extra Christmas present for my husband and stumbled on this site. Hurrah! The real thing, AND at a discounted price. I'm sure the chocolate will go down a treat. I'll probably be back for more next year. Easy ordering and fast delivery. Highly recommended.
Some nice clothes in some of La Redoute’s ranges, but overall, the quality of their clothes is not good. Delivery is sporadic and unprofessional and items do get left on the doorstep. (The main aim of the deliverers seems to be to get rid of the delivery.)
Two main problems: A stupid website which often fails to recognise La Redoute's own loudly trumpeted promotion codes, or recognise my e-mail address as a valid e-mail address (even 'though I've used it several times before on the website), making for a very frustrating order process; and the fact that it seems impossible to remove your name from their database.
I have been trying for months to turn off the supply of catalogues from La Redoute. I have sent three e-mails on the subject to the company (their contact phone number is an 0844 number: Another reason not to do business with them). The only response I've had is an e-mail encouraging me to complete an unfinished order on their website!
My advice would be to avoid doing business with La Redoute. If you start, you may find it very hard indeed to get out! Don't sign your life away.
