Rubbish customer service and policies

I bought a photo shoot for two to get some nice photos with my partner who resides abroad over Christmas 2013 period. After contacting the salon for a full month via phone + email and leaving my contact details on answerphone, my girlfriend had to move back abroad and the voucher became useless. I have now contacted Groupon three times (twice via email and once in writing by post) to request a refund on the deal. they have duly ignored my communications for two weeks and when the advisor came back to me, they said that they cannot locate my account. At this juncture, I notified Groupon that I wanted all of my existing deals refunded and my account with Groupon closed as I was completely dissatisfied with their customer service standards. Once they located my account, they claimed that as the deal was bought longer than 7 days ago, refund isn't available to me and the best they can do it contact the vendor on my behalf and arrange the appointment for me (completely ignoring all my previous explanations wrt why I couldn't use the deal anymore) OR offering me "store credit" (despite my intention to close my account with them). Overall, I found that it is possible to find most of Groupon's deals online by contacting vendors directly and the only benefit Groupon offers you is having everything aggregated in one place. However this is completely overshadowed by abysmal customer service and very relaxed policy as to who Groupon sells services for (clearly not always reputable vendors). Avoid unless they come up with something REALLY exceptional.


Over a month to deliver a couple of t-shirts!

First of all: if you are looking for good brands cheaply and are not in a rush to get your purchases - go ahead and buy from SP. However I normally shop for stuff that I need now and hence the delivery times on this site are just not acceptable for me. Ordered a running top and a couple of training t-shirts on the 4th of April and the delivery is scheduled for the 7th of MAY! I can understand 1-2 weeks, but this is completely OTT. There are other sites that offer quality sports kit cheaply and with quick delivery (sportsshoes is one of them) and SportPursuit just cannot compete with them.

Sorry to see that you’re not happy with your recent order and that you weren’t aware of the longer delivery times that we operate with. We do publish estimated delivery dates on each product page and throughout the checkout process, apologies if this wasn’t made clear enough.

We are incredibly focused on delivering a great service to our members, both in terms of fantastic prices and reliable delivery and one of the ways in which we're able to achieve unbeatable prices is due to the way we work with our suppliers, where we buy in bulk at the end of each sale. This accounts for the longer delivery times than you typically experience on other websites, although we're working on ways to bring this lead time down in future and we always hope to deliver early in, if not before the estimates.


Good prices - rubbish delivery

Ordere my jacket on Friday morning and paid ~£10 for the courier delivery hoping to get the jacket on Saturday (had ParcelForce and FedEx devlivered on Sat before)... Took a day off to get the delivery on Monday... On Monday afternoon the jacket still has not been dispatched, called the store and they said that this is "normal" and the jacket will be delivered on Tuesday. Can't take another day off so had to make "alternative arrangements". If you buy anything from these guys - opt for the standard delivery, courier is a rip-off.
