The service from Printerland was fine and the “Best A3 Deal of the Day” saved me a bit more on the already very reasonable price. The printer was easy to install and is now churning out A4 and A3 prints in my small home office, the only drawback of the printer is it’s black and doesn’t look very nice on my desk .. I would have preferred cream but you can’t have everything. I’m glad that I decided to go for the more expensive printer that would hold A4 and A3 paper at the same time since it’s saved me a lot of messing around swapping paper over, and also saves having to keep a separate pile of bulky A3 paper in the office.
If I have to find any criticism at all it’s was very small and something out of Printerland’s control anyway and that was the delivery. I know from my phone call with Printerland on the day of delivery that the printer was loaded onto the delivery van early in the morning, before 7am I think. Being a large heavy box it was probably pushed to the back of the delivery van out of the way of smaller boxes and therefor was one of the last off the van arriving at about 6pm on the day after I placed the order. I guess I could probably have paid extra for a before noon delivery but Printerland delivered as promised as a “Free next day delivery” so I’m happy.
If Printerland were looking to change things or make improvements they could possible amend the wording on the “Free next day delivery” to give some indication the carrier and of up to what time so that small firms that have staff that all finish just after 5pm know to make special arrangements or have the option of perhaps paying for a pre noon delivery. My other suggestion would be to email out the tracking number so clients could do the chasing up themselves without calling Printerland over something that’s actually out of their control anyway.
If I have to be really-really-really picky, the other very small thing was that I placed the order on the 10th, admittedly mid-afternoon, but I did not receive email confirmation until the next day after I phoned up to check on the order after thinking something had gone wrong with my card payment or something. Having said that I know that many firms don’t do invoice runs constantly they save them up and run them once a day, so ordering late in the afternoon I perhaps just missed it and perhaps I’m being a bit harsh.
Before working for myself I used to work for several world-class high-tech companies involved in “Just in Time” manufacturing , with very very fussy customers, and I always like to give friendly constructive criticism or advice when asked, to help firms , especially ones local to me, improve their service. I hope this information is of help to Printerland in looking to find ways, however small, in improving what is already an excellent service.
