the new sigma flagship store is a church of worship for cyclists and triathletes. as you walk the aisles there are a vast array of wondrous shiny products that you have probably never seen before and only thought were available in heaven.
Unfortunately I am most often brought back to earth when I ask for assistance. It seems that the staff do not share in the spiritual high that the church of sigma creates for me. They are surly, unhelpful, grumpy and often just busy doing something that I can never figure out what it is - behind their retail altar. So to conclude, much as I love the idea of Sigma sport, my money will continue to go to Wiggle, who have no church but do have an efficient online experience, better prices and whenever I've needed it - a much more retail focussed customer service.
One of the challenges in following a Vegan or wholefoods diet is getting hold of the diverse range of ingredients you need to keep up a varied and interesting range of meal options. For my part I cook with a wide range of nuts, flours, grains etc etc. No supermarket or even high street health food shop will stock much more than the commonly requested items. Online you can find anything of course but again i've always found that while one online supplier will stock one ingredient i'm looking for they won't have all of those ingredients. In the end I'm left having to order from 3+ different places on a regular basis which is a hassle in many ways and of course involves paying shipping for multiple deliveries. SO healthy supplies is the only supplier i have found that stocks absolutely everything i could ever need. And there are options for just about everything too: you can buy bulk for reduced price, organic or regular, branded (the Biona range for example) or just generic. Their website is really practical and simple to use and there is a over arching sense of community and warmth that comes from their brand. I've left it to last because I don't think its the most important thing but its also worth pointing out that their prices are more often than not the best prices you will find on the internet.
