I purchased my website domain from this company, and lost emails due to several system crashes. Customer support simply ignored my requests for help.
The worst thing however was when I was unable to access my control panel. I was told by the company that this was because my credit card had expired. Despite the fact that my account was full paid up and renewal was not due for another nine months, fasthosts refused to allow me access to my account.
I then found that they had taken funds from my credit card without justification. Their ultimate response was that their terms & conditions stated "no refunds", whatever the circumstances of the wrongful charges.
Staff were rude, aggressive and unhelpful.
I then got another shock when I decided to leave the company and go elsewhere; they had locked my domain and would not release it without my credit card details (remember the charges they could not justify?).
It was two weeks later and involvement of regulatory body before they released my domain.
This is a dreadful, bullying company with serious contempt for customers. Don't fall for the glossy adverts. If in doubt, check their terms. The first line states that they reserve the right not to provide the service you pay for, and not to refund your money. A bunch of cyber crooks to be avoided at all costs.
