Hotels.com

used to be great, but maybe now has gotten to big for itself

used to really like this site and got some real bargains. But now find a better price and more options at priceline. the only thing this site has is the 10 stays for one free night. I find now they are usually about 10+ dollars or more than priceline or the regular hotels site.
the real kicker was getting a surcharge at a hotel in PA that cost me an extra 35 dollars. I was just clicking through as normal and didnt realize on the last click, they added this resort charge, at a Americas Best Value Inn. The hotel has no say in it and had told me they had several complaints about it. When I called to complain, I got the same speech of that some sites have a resort charge. On priceline, the hotel was 95, hotels.com, 90. I went with the hotels.com because of the price. Like i said, on the last click is where it says the extra surcharge that Ive never seen before. Luckily, I am at my 10th night and will use my free room and then say goodbye to hotels.com. Its a shame as it used to have better prices. and to be concise, a year ago i would have rated them a 5 star. now it was a toss up to 2 or 3 stars

Priceline

was a hotels.com user, but priceline is now my number 1

used to use hotels.com, but when they charged me an extra charge since I staeyed at Hershey, Pa in the off season, and didnt do it til the last click, I said that was it. They would not refund me and the hotel has said they have had many complaints, I do compare for the heck of it with priceline and I can say that priceline has a better price everytime. I travel about 150 days a year. AND car rentals, beats any online or car rental sites. They now have my vote hands down
