I found the whole experience fairly painless. The car I was buying was priced fairly, and they offered a fair part-ex value on my old car. It was very busy and we did have to wait a while, but it was a Saturday so not surprising really. The chap who took me on my test drive rather got my back up asking if I was a 'princess' whose Dad was buying the car for her!! Er - No!!
As soon as I got the new car home I realised the rear windscreen wash wasn't working. FOW phoned me first thing Monday morning with details of a local garage who would do the fix and then invoice FOW. So, so far so good!
Booked a last minute 4x4 during heavy snow - their online price was about £40 lower than the other local firms so I went with them.
Picked it up ok. The girl on the front desk was trying to sell me their 'extra' insurance - I always use carhireexcess.co.uk - they are fantastic - and a lot cheaper than insuring your excess with the hire company. The girl told me I was a 'fool' as any scratches were 'going to cost me big'. Really found this off putting and rude - but anxious to get on with my weekend away so didn't start down the supervisor / complaint route.
On return she came out to inspect the car - tutted that it was dirty (I'd driven 400 miles through snow, mud and salt)!! Found a 4cm barely visible scuff on one hub cap - for which she took great pleasure in charging me £250. She became extremely anxious and aggressive when I photographed the 'damage' myself - I think she knew she was really scraping the bottom of the barrel.
Anyway - thanks to my excess insurance with carhireexcess.co.uk who paid out fairly quickly the story doesn't have a sad ending. However the entire experience left such a bitter taste in my mouth I have vowed to never use Thrifty again - no matter how competitive their prices look. They are determined to make up that cost in a multitude of other unpleasant ways.
Ordered yesterday afternoon - great price and really responsive customer services team. Free shipping and arrived this morning. Brilliantly packaged and exactly as ordered. Used this company after reading disastrous feedback on watch hut. I would recommend Watch Shop without any reservations.
Incredible service - beautiful pens, engraved extremely well, no problems with larger quantities, delivered less than 24 hours after placing the order even though I hadn't specified next day delivery - good value for money.
Absolutely faultless - and it's not often you can say that!
Beauty expert have a fantastic collection of brands and if all runs smoothly it's great!
Unfortunately the wheels fall off as soon as the most minor thing goes wrong, their customer service teams just don't seem able to cope.
I have placed four orders, and there have been issues with the last three. Sadly that will be my final purchase. Issues include voucher codes not working (apparently a website fault, but 2 weeks to sort it out, really??) - only partial addresses being printed on the labels although correct on the screen (this happened twice, although different lines omitted on each order, thanks to nice neighbours and a persistent postie for getting them to me)! Total confusion regarding missing items, and having to deal with 5+ difference people to sort out the simplest of problems has been the final straw.
Sad, it could be a brilliant business.
