The website should tell you if items are out of stock

I ordered a Miele vacuum cleaner at the beginning of week 1. Online, the price offered was the best available, and a number of other stockists were out of stock, including John Lewis, so I went ahead to make a purchase from Hispek. My old vacuum cleaner had broken, but I was prepared to wait the 5-7 working days for a replacement. Payment was taken from my account on the day of purchase. After 7 working days, ie the middle of week 2, I emailed the company to ask where my item was. I was then informed that the item was out of stock but due in at the end of the week. I called the company at the end of the week and was assured my item was due for delivery and would arrive Mon or Tue the following week (week 3). On Tue, I received an email to say that I needed to contact the Hispek team. When I called, I was told my item was still not in stock and would take another 2-3 weeks to arrive. Of course, I could not wait this long to buy a vacuum cleaner. The staff were very helpful, but if the website had registered in the first place that the item was out of stock, I would not have pursued the purchase. I am still waiting to be reimbursed in my bank account.

We are occasionally challenged with the ability to source every product we offer given the volume of products on the website, we do always strive to be pro-active and contact customers with alternatives when this happens that can be delivered within a more acceptable time scale.

The refund was processed on 11th October, and we are sorry to have lost your custom.
