Site was easy to use and good for changing details and comparing to get the crossing that suited me. Lots of useful links. It was a shame that the quote went up after I waited a couple of weeks to confirm the booking but I don't think this is unusual.
Had an email advising me that the item I wanted was out of stock - disappointing as the order had been accepted. It advised me I could phone to order and alternative. I did and the service was excellent and a suitable alternative was supplied for the same price. Also delivery was next day as advised (I did pay the bit extra for this but it was only a few quid) which was handy as it was for a birthday present. A possible bad experience was therefore turned into a very positive one and I will definitely order from Garden XL again.
Bought a BC Rich guitar at less than half price (listed as ex-demo). Called to ask some questions before deciding to order and the guy was very helpful and even called the store holding the guitar to check its condition and called me back. Did rush me off the phone a little as had another phone ringing in the background. DPD delivered next day at the time they specified and it was very well packaged. Make sure you are in for the delivery or you can call customer services (bit of a run around to finally get to speak to someone) and arrange to have it left in a secure place. I don't buy much guitar stuff but if I do I'll check these guys out first.
Rutland Cycles warranty department is without doubt the best I have ever come across. The peace if mind this gives is the main reason I strongly recommend Rutland Cycles to friends and family and why it will be the first place I look when my kids need bigger bikes. The sales staff in the stores also give good advice, the mechanics know their stuff and the prices tend to be the best on the Internet. I’ve experienced 2 manufacturing faults – neither a reflection on Rutland Cycles and both matters were resolved quickly, very amicably and above my expectations. Friends who are also regular cyclists have had similar experiences and know Rutland to be a company you can buy from with confidence of good after sales service if required. I think it’s one of, if not the biggest internet cycle company in Europe which must stand for something. I travelled almost an hour (and past many other bike shops) to the Rutland shop to buy the 1st new bike I’ve ever owned and wondered if it was worth it and did I buy from the right place – having dealt with the warranty department I would emphatically say “Yes”.
