Never again will I buy online at Debenhams. I am not in the country this Christmas and thought I would be organised and order my gifts online. Lots of deals of course, this being Debenhams. The website assured my items would be delivered within 4 days. I therefore prepared myself to wait at home for the next 4 days as the custom in the UK is to never be told exactly when your order will arrive. This is how it happened: my items were delivered bit by bit throughout the 4 days from as early as 8 in the morning to as late a 4 in the afternoon, sometimes twice in the same day by different couriers. Then the 3 final items (the ones I actually quite wanted!) never arrived. After a lengthy and expensive phone call to Debenhams, it turned out that the items were 'lost in transit' and I was given a refund, otherwise they could have been reordered and I would have had to wait around for another week at home for them. Debenhams online tracker service was very unhelpful as nobody knew what the cryptic messages meant. I will not shop online again at Debenhams. Those who do will have been warned.
