I booked one of their handymen to paint my front door, inside and outside, and re-caulk my kitchen working top. I was not happy with the overall tally of charges.
Despite rain being a visitor, and the handyman therefore being unable to complete the job, he spent an additional two extra hours at the property. I would like to point out that he told me he would not charge me for an additional hour to the half day rate which I booked him for. In fact he ended up charging me for two.
Although he was absolutely pleasant of demeanour, I am still struggling, very much indeed, to work out just why it took him so long to undertake such basic, basic work.
The company refused to clarify why they quoted me for a half day rate for a job that, even unfinished, ended up taking a two further hours.
I booked their services because of the appearance of fixed prices – no hidden charges. However, I felt utterly let me down by the fact they charged me for two hours more.
Not only that, but I will also had to finish the job myself.
In my opinion, the handyman could have spent three hours on site to prepare the door and apply initial coats, and then return at a later date to finish the job, rather than hanging about on site to, seemingly, put extra burden on my finances.
