My horse was recently in hospital and a mix-up resulted in one of his rugs disappearing to a racing yard, never to be seen again. Not best pleased as it was new. The original stockists couldn't re-order so I trawled on line for the identical rug and found it at the Old Dairy Saddlery, cheaper that the original purchase including postage and packaging.
The rug arrived, as promised, two days later.
My only disappointment was with the delivery service who ignored the instruction to "leave on front doorstep." They undertook to leave it with a neighbour who didn't in fact deliver it to me until the following evening... but that is hardly the fault of the Old Dairy.
Buying 'bute on prescription via 365Vet makes keeping an arthritic horse comfortable and active financially viable. For the past three years, I have paid almost half the cost I used to pay when I relied on my veterinary practice to supply the drug.
My little horse, Fin, was operated on for bone spavin in 2006. Since then he has evented successfully, competing at the Pony Club National Champs twice. He does now need a daily bute to quell the inflammation in the hock and, as long as I am organised, I can keep him up to speed by ordering the drug on line, backed by a valid prescription from my vet.
I was introduced to the idea of on-line ordering by a former practice manager with my current vets. I had no idea it was possible to beat costs in this way.
On a couple of occasions only, I have been let down by the product not arriving as scheduled. Both times, the contact details have allowed me to chase up my order and actually get to speak to someone who has been able to track its progress. The company has been prolifically apologetic and have rectified the situation immediately.
I would only add that if you have an animal dependant on a drug, do not leave re-ordering supplies until the last minute. Where a prescription is required, you must allow for the turn round with your vets on top of the usual order time with 365Vets. That's why I say I must be organised!
