Normally, I'm very wary buying second hand gear. Unfortunately, as the Technics SL-1200 range is discontinued by Matshushita/Panasonic, the only way to obtain a deck these days is on the second hand market, with those exceptions where one pays 1600GBP for one of the remaining new SL-1200's.
So I stumbled upon the BopDJ's offering of an SL-1200, fully revised and optically as well as technically in a mint condition. All of this at a very interesting price. So I gave it a go.
The unit arrived just few days later, and where the offering mentioned 'mint condition', I say that the deck was in MINT condition: as promised in the offering, the SL-1200 looks as if it was pushed out of the Panasonic plant just yesterday. Not a single scratch, brand new dust cover, brand new stylus and cartridge,....
I am absolutely over the top of joy I ordered the SL-1200. Where I have two SL-1200 MK5's in a flight case for occasional DJ-ing, this one is meant for my home office, and have it standing on my desk to enjoy music while working.
