We asked for Argos vouchers as gifts for our wedding earlier this year. Once everything had settled after the wedding we decide to use these voucher to buy some new sofas.
We order them instore locally so we could be sure of the delivery lead time on the 2nd September 2012 and was told that we would receive our order on the 29th Semptember 2012 which we felt was fair. 2 days before the delivery we made sure all our old sofas had been removed. On the same day we received a phone call from Argos saying their supplier was out of stock and there was to be a further delay of 3 weeks 19th October 2012.
Being annoyed at this we complained about the delay and the fact that since we ordered Argos had reduced the price of both sofas that we had ordered. They did in their defence refund the difference to us via a cheque and agreed a delivery date of 19th October 2012.
Then today 18th October 2012 the day before they are due to deliver our order, Argos call us to say that there is a further delay of another 2 weeks. When I called them to ask them why they was unable to tell me why my order was delayed yet again, and thay they can not be held responsible for a delay with this supply.
I feel that this is solely unfair as the sales contract is between me and Argos not Argos's supplier. They also could not discuss the matter of a refund or compensation with me as the order was placed in the wifes name.
Sorry Argos this is the 2nd order you have messed me with I will never order anything from you ever again.
