I ordered an item on Monday afternoon which I desperately needed by Friday. After emailing to explain the situation they reassured me that the item would be delivered by that date. I did not receive anything by Thursday and got a bit worried so emailed asking whether it had been despatched or not. Lanson were again quick to respond saying that it had been despatched and should have arrived on Wednesday. They automatically opened a query with royal mail to make sure of it and subsequently were in contact to make sure I had found the parcel. Their emails were professional but also friendly and I got the feeling they were doing what they could to ensure I was happy.
I think that most of the time, when one sends flowers to another person, it is unlikely that the sender will ever actually see them. And what kind of person who receives those flowers would say to the sender that they are horrible; not a British person, that's for sure, we're just too polite.
I happened to visit my mum a few days after mothers day and was absolutely shocked to see that half of the blooms were wilted, crusty, brown and dry. Of course, my mum didn't say anything to me when I asked over the phone, but then she didn't know I would be visiting. This bouquet was £50, but I wouldn't have paid more than £15 if I purchased the same ones from a store. In fact, I have seen bouquets with fewer shrivelled buds and blooms at the local costcutters for £5. Two of them would have made an equally impressive bouquet.
Given there are plenty of favourable reviews here, I can forgive anyone who thinks I'm over-exaggerating. And don't get me wrong, I do not think that all bouquets are delivered like this. However, I would say that I very seldom write reviews unless I am either extremely impressed or appalled. Unfortunately, on this occasion, it is the latter.
As for the product, I can't say much about it as it was for a friend and I don't know how they're getting on, but the delivery was excellent. I got text messages updating me as to when the parcel will be delivered and whether I wanted to change the day in case I would not be at home. I may be naive, but I haven't had that before and thought it was great!! No more worrying about where the hell your purchase is in the world. They even told me my friendly parcel delivery guy's name!!
