Great products, simple ordering

Assuming everything arrives as just quoted, the web site is great for ordering from. Easy ordering process, choice of free delivery dates in a reasonable time. I bought from The Cotswold Company for many years and so far have nothing to complain about.



The following is part of an email I received at 09:27 this morning "Your order from Burton & Sons Trading Ltd is out for delivery today by Blaise your DPD driver and is due to be delivered between 10:59-11:59. Can you please ensure that someone will be available to sign for the parcel" - At the time of receiving the email I was out so I went straight home to be there for the delivery. I was home by 10:30am in plenty of time for the instructed delivery timeslot. I waited, but 2 minutes before the end of the timeslot I received an email from DPD saying they could not deliver because no one was home and that they had left a card for me to arrange redelivery. They did not attempt to deliver to me and they DID NOT leave a card. I went online to try to find a contact number to speak to DPD and find out the reason for this deception but as I had no consignment card I was unable to communicate with them and it is impossible to speak to a human being. I then later received an email conveniently giving me the consignment number so that I could try to rearrange delivery.

I am very angry and upset at my wasted morning. It is unacceptable to treat people in this way. Clearly it is a ruse for DPD to ensure all their consignments are delivered on their rounds rather than have to leave calling cards. This is not the first time DPD has done this when delivering items to my address. It is getting to the point where I will not purchase from suppliers who use DPD.

As a postscript to the above review, at 3pm this afternoon (the same day) a DPD driver turned up with my package, which I had finally received confirmation would be delivered Wednesday, two days from now!! I happened to be in by chance!!

The driver says this sort of thing is always happening..............

My initial complaint stands - absolutely appalling service.
