Pharmacy2U

Reliable and Discreet

Despite going for the free super saver delivery, my order arrived within 3 days. More importantly, as the order was to be delivered to my work address, the packaging was discreet. The prices compared favourably to other internet pharmacy options (e.g. Boots online). I will most certainly use Pharmacy2U again.

Cash 4 Phones

Fraud - avoid at all costs

Like all the other (genuine) reviews on here, I sent my iPhone 3GS 8gb off to cash 4 phones, which was in fairly good condition. On receipt, they reduced their offer by over 66%, and charged £9 to return my phone to me when, unsurprisingly, I rejected their offer. It remains to be seen whether or not I ever receive my phone back, and I will be reporting them to the relevant agencies.

Please never use this company.

Mazuma Mobile

Efficient and customer focused

This was my second experience with Mazuma. Once again I found them to be prompt and efficient, and needless to say they paid the price originally stated (which was £115 for an iPhone 4 32 gb). The price wasn't as high as I had hoped, but compared favourably to the rest of the market. I think the amounts offered by recyclers have declined steadily as demand has risen, as economics dictates - ultimately they pay what they can get away with. I checked my records and in July 2010 I was paid £141 for an 8gb iphone 3...

Mazuma seem to be the best around, so think carefully before sending your phone anywhere else (see my review of Payzoola for a stark contrast in approach)

Payzoola.com

Not what it promises to be

I sent an iPhone 4 32gb to Payzoola on the basis that they were offering the most money of any mobile phone recycler at the time - £134 (post-iPhone 5 release). This sum was offered on the basis that my phone was in good condition (i.e. minor wear and tear). There were a few minor scratches on the screen as a result of the phone being two years old and on the rear of the phone but I was confident that my phone still fell within this bracket.

I received a notification on my account a few days after posting the phone, which stated that my phone had been assessed and as there were a few scratches on the screen and "the charger doesn't fit as snugly as it should do", Payzoola could only offer me £100. £20 lower even than the "fair condition" price which was originally offered (£120). I imagine Payzoola were expecting me to accept their offer for the sake of convenience, but out of principle I asked for my phone to be returned by special delivery so that I could sell to another recycler. I consider my experience with Payzoola to be a waste of both my time and theirs and I would certainly not recommend them on the basis of my experience. To imply my phone is less than fair condition is frankly ridiculous, and I have no option but to conclude that this is a company tactic to bring customers to them in the first place and then drop the price dramatically when they have the customer on the hook.

I should add that the best part of the service was the return of my phone, which was done immediately as I requested and by special delivery.

My phone will be going off to Mazuma (who are offering £115) instead.
