We ordered two chest of drawers from Oakfurnitureland. The rustic French oak was fabulous and arrived in mint condition. However, unfortunately the other one, a mahogany chest of drawers, which is also a lovely piece of furniture had obviously been hit with considerable force at some stage as there was a line of damage down the front of it.
We decided (after the hassle of getting it up some very tricky stairs!) that we could live with the damage as we could fix the broken drawer and the other damage could be dealt with too.
I am, however, fully confident that if we had decided we wanted the piece exchanged that Oakfurnitureland would have done so efficiently and quickly. Maybe more protective packaging would have been the answer as it was quite thin and obviously not that effective.
I have to confess, I am an Achica addict. I have purchased everything from Jelly Beans to a bed from Achica and have had to stop myself on many occaisions buying furniture for a house I don't own yet!
Only have two teensy weensy issues with Achica. The first is that they suddenly stopped accepting American Express - big mistake - huge! American Express is my only credit card so my impulse buying has been reduced to practically zero. The second point is that sometimes it is hard to know what is being delivered. The notices tell you what has left the warehouse, but then the next message says that something is due to be delivered, but every time I have tried to follow the suggested link, there is absolutely no indication what is being delivered be it a cuddlly toy (small squashy and portable) or a bed (logistically more challenging). Team this with the random despatch of items - e.g. I am still waiting for an egg box (long story) which was meant to be despatched in mid September, so you have to keep a keen eye on what you have received and what you haven't.
However, as I said, I LOVE Achica and have been recommended it to all my friends too.
