Knife eventually arrived, but not worth the stress

The knife I ordered has eventually arrived, but it took nearly two weeks. Most of the time the website was showing order status as 'queued'. Having read large number of negative reviews (unfortunately only after placing the order) I was getting concerned, emailed the company, never received a reply, tried hard to find their phone number, but no luck. As said, the knife eventually arrived, looks genuine and was slightly cheaper than elsewhere but it was not worth the stress. Would not use this company again.

Lesson learned - read company reviews before shopping online!

Simplyelectronics.net was the worst online experience ever

Simplyelectronics.net is a disgrace to the online retailing community and the way they treat customers is appalling.

I placed my order for a Nikon SLR camera on Monday and paid £450 by card which was debited on the same day.

The website was showing plenty of items on stock, stating usual despatch within 1-2 days and delivery between 3-5 business days.

The company failed on both counts by which time I was reading bad reviews from several customers who were in the same situation so naturally I was beginning to get concerned and started chasing my order.

Eventually managed to speak to the customer service, a lady said that there is a backlog of orders and could not tell me when the order was going to be processed. This was going on for days with no one able to tell me when the item would be sent.

I had to cancel the order, requested a refund, bought the camera from Currys which arrived the next day!

The same story repeated with the refund which was supposedly going to take 3-5 days but again the company failed and no one could tell me when I would get my money back. After filing a dispute claim with my bank and threatening to take legal actions against Simplyelectronics they eventually processed the refund.

I have been shopping online for over 10 years and about 90% of the goods I buy is done online but dealing with Simplydirect.net was definitely the worst online experience ever.
