TransferWise

I can't believe it's so easy... and cheap!

I was a bit sceptical about TransferWise when I looked at their website - surely transferring money abroad wouldn't be as simple as they made it seem? But I saw them recommended on moneysavingexpert.com so thought I'd give them a try. It really does only take a few details to set up the transfer, then you deposit the equivalent local currency amount into their account (using your internet banking service) and the funds show up in the recipient's account within a couple of days. The charges are clearly shown up-front and the recipient isn't charged anything to get the money, since it's already in their account. I have now paid for two holiday rental properties for my upcoming trip and it only cost me a few pounds to do it. And the exchange rate was loads better than any currency exchange. I will use TransferWise time and time again!
