Over the years I've bought a lot from CeX, my general experience being merely 'ok', I have had a fair amount of cancelled orders without warning and on asking more information either don't get a response or some automated response (or in one case an email back THREE weeks later). Putting the order through again normally resolves it which just shows that it's their own fault. Other times I've placed an order, they've seen the price is good for what it is and cancel it (I assume for their own benefit).
I've had items not turn up, items damaged, stolen items delivered (good diligence checking, in their marginal defence I didn't suffer financial loss) and them return a laptop to me in an empty cardboard box with no padding - it arrived smashed to pieces (we actually went to court over this and I won).
Rather stupidly I tried to sell them an iPhone 5 with charger and cable as grade B (that's all the accessories bar the inner-ear headset and no box as their own grading system) - they downgraded it to a C (I kind of expected this given my past experience). After being so fast to downgrade it, I replied almost immediately and days have past with no response - so I have no money and no iPhone. Apparently the lack of box and some unknown accessory is what caused it, even though I had the box but didn't send it as I know for a fact (and from what it says on their own website), whenever I've bought a grade B item in-store there's no guaranteed box - seems like a scam just to extract more money from customers by paying out less.
Honestly, if you value your sanity and money then turn and run and use someone else to recycle your hardware or buy products from. It's a total disgrace and I'm shocked I ever dreamed of trusting them again - don't get suckered in by the occasional good sell-to-CeX price, you will never get what's advertised...
