Not Impressed!

We ordered a takeaway just before 4pm to be delivered at 4:45pm only to get a phonecall at 4:30pm saying it was cancelled as we weren't within the delivery area! After some heated discussion he said that if we wanted our order we'd have to pay a £3.50 delivery charge! So not only did they lie on their site and e-mail confirmation, they then expect us to pay extra and wait an extra God knows how long for an order we were supposedly getting 15 minutes later. He was not apologetic and as they'd already taken the money we now have to wait for a refund! Not impressed!

Hello Carl,

I am sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the service you received from the takeaway. Currently our system works on the first half of the post code, some postcodes can stretch over ten miles. Therefore, there are some occasions where the takeaway will only deliver to a certain part of the post code and have the option to reject if an order is too far. The majority of our takeaways deliver within a three mile radius regardless of whether they are on JUST EAT or not. Houses which are further from the takeaway can have a higher delivery charge and the cost would go to the delivery driver. We do advise takeaways to reject an order if they cannot proceed based on the order in front of them, if they require extra delivery charge we will relay this to the customer so they can make an informed decision and either cancel or proceed. We are working on integrating the second half of the post code for more accurate ordering and to avoid situations such as this.
