I paid for next day delivery (by 1pm) for two parcels from amazon. I received a text stating my parcel would arrive TODAY as I paid for between 9am and 6pm.
I stayed in all day and didn't hear a peep. I tracked both the parcels and at 5.55pm both statuses changed to ''We were unable to deliver your parcel, track your parcel here for regular updates''. I have NOT been given another delivery date. Frankly I am appalled delivery wasn't even attempted as I payed not only for next day delivery but for next day delivery before 1pm as it was paramount I received these parcels today.
I tried to contact DPD and got through to an automated service which told me to take it up with amazon. I have NEVER had a problem with amazon and it is clear the problem here is DPD who didn't even try to deliver my package. Terrible terrible service.
EDITED TO ADD
The driver did return at 18:35 or thereabouts with my package. I am still however less than impressed with the service.
It should have been with me with in the time slot and the tracking should not have been updated to could not deliver and I should have been informed the driver was bringing it late as I did infact, by chance, meet him at the lifts as I was on my way out. Could be much better.
This experience has put me off using DPD again I'm afraid.
