Argos

Faulty goods and incompetent staff who couldnt care less

Four months ago we ordered a double bed off Argos. It arrived with no issue.. until we tried to assemble it! The supporting beam was welded on so squint it would never have passed their apparent "quality control tests". I called up and arranged a replacement to be sent out two weeks later. The next day I got a call asking me to book a slot for the new bed to be sent out! This happened three more times before someone at their end was able to click the confirm button. However, due to the people who couldn't understand how to click the confirm button the delivery slit was one month later in the middle of the Edinburgh festival when both my partner and I were working 90 hours per week. I arranged to have a day off but of course they brought the bed the day earlier! I was told if I couldn't receive the bed that day (I was already at work at this point) that it would be taken back to the south of england and I would need to rearrange yet again. When i explained my situation to the hormones the phone she said it's a shame but not their problem! I managed to get off work early and arranged for them to come at 6.30. They of course arrived at 6.10 and gave me quite a bit of hassle for not being ready for them.
When we assembled the next bed it went together fine. However, two nights later the two supporting legs collapsed! I wouldn't mind this if we were jumping about or overweight but we simply climbed in to go to bed and are both a size 10!
I was promised a £30 voucher and new legs. It took three further emails (as I refused to speak to them over the phone as the can't seem to carry out a simple task and wanted proof of each promise) before I finally received legs but no voucher. The legs were too short with no parts to attach them to the bed. I took a further four emails, where I received standardised templates as responses, before I finally received more legs and the voucher. However, yet again the legs were too short with no parts!! Once again I complained twice before receiving a response. The response gave me the choice of either:
A. Going out and buying new legs myself
B. Them sending me yet another faulty bed
We have now been without a bed for four months! Argos quite simply couldn't care less.
Their customer service representatives are incompetent, the goods are second rate, the have zero compassion or caring and are THE WORST company I have EVER had the misfortune of dealing with!!!
