I booked a weekend break at the Dolmen Hotel in Malta for a room with a Seaview and Terrace on Full Board. This was for our fifth wedding anniversary. A week before the holiday, I specifically called Travel Republic to ensure that we got a Double Room. On arrival we were checked into a room with three single beds and no balcony. The hotel manager told us that the only way to guarantee a booking was to book directly with the hotel and that Travel Republic had mis-sold the room. Calling your local rep was no help as he told us to file a complaint on return to the UK. We eventually had to compromise and take a Twin Room with a balcony and partial seaview. You need to tighten up your booking process. I selected the room from an extensive menu of options and purposefully chose one of the more expensive rooms. Also, I think it very unprofessional that the hotel manager blamed Travel Republic for the problem instead of just giving us an upgrade to an available Suite.
