Waste of time!

Absolutely useless service. Took a day off work for nothing. I was expecting a delivery today (08/11/2012). I received two messages telling me the package would be delivered today between 2pm and 3pm. At 2.20, I received a text stating that delivery was not possible as nobody was at home. I was at home and know for a FACT that he didn't attempt to deliver. I was also told that a failed delivery card was left; I checked all around my flat and entrance doors - nothing. I called DPD who then spoke to the driver. He said he knocked on my door but there was no answer. I then told DPD he didn't try as he can only buzz to get to my flat. Further, the buzzers are so loud, I hear my neighbour's when someone buzzes for them. So he definitely didn't buzz my flat. They could not explain the absence of a failed delivery card. I was then told the delivery would be re-scheduled for 4.30 the same day. Annoyed, I agreed. I waited and waited. I even called back to pass on my mobile number and exact delivery address. At 5pm when I called I was told the driver was a little delayed but would be delivering. I then waited. At 5.45, after receiving nothing, I called again, only to be told that the driver was unable to deliver and was going home. The only option was to reschedule for another day. I asked about collecting the same day as the depot closed at 7.30 (I spoke to customer services earlier who said this would be fine) but was told the driver would be arriving back at the depot after closing time so that option was out the window. Luckily for me, I live close to the depot so don't have to miss another day's work for nothing.

However this seems to be a common occurrence with this company. A quick search of DPD review will prove this. Fortunately I haven't paid for this delivery either but for those wishing to use this company for anything - DONT! DPD have proven themselves to be not only unreliable but dishonest as well. Not the type of company you want to be doing business with. I decided to collect m parcel the next day and avoid more disappointment and bad service and will be staying well clear of them.
