I bought a Cobra 50. The bike is well built and was perfect as an entry bike for my 6 year old son. Things went perfectly the first day my son rode the bike. Unfortunately, it has been temperimental since then. There is a problem with the fuel system. The bike ticks over perfectly but struggles to rev through and tends to lose power and stall; very frustrating for young biker (and older dad). I've taken it to two different mechanics but without a proper manual for, and prior experience with, the bikes, there was little that they could do. I'm used to motorbikes but these little bikes are a bit to fiddly for me.
I bought four 200cc drifters last Christmas. The kids (both young and old) enjoyed them immensely. They do exactly what they say on the box. They start easily, run smoothly (mostly), handle/perform extremely well; even my five year old son quickly got the hang of his drifter. However, saying that, I've had to buy a replacement engine already; the original engine on one of the drifters seized-up after only a few weeks of use. Another machine keeps dying intermittently (probably carburetor or spark plug problems). I've purchased a new engine from Petrol Scooter UK (which arrived within two days) and, hopefully, we can sort the fuel/ignition problems ourselves. Overall, a good purchase but an expensive one.
