So I paid for next day delivery on an item and I got the tracking information. It was said that the item was collected from the sender at 5:00pm and it was in the sorting facility at 9:20pm on 12th Monday. My parcel was estimated to arrive on the 13th (which was the next day which makes sense as i paid for next day delivery). I spent most of the afternoon looking at my tracking provided by DPD's site. Around 2pm it said that it was 'in transit' so i thought okay everything is going smoothly, i checked it just before heading to work at 6pm and it was still 'in transit', later on, i checked at work on my phone and suddenly the status of my parcel went from ' in transit' back to 'sortation facility'!? My parcel went backwards? I doubt that it even left the facility as the detailed information stops at 'Passed the X-ray process' Its now just after midnight and its the 14th, my status has not changed and its passed the 13th which is no longer 'next day'. I now have to wait till tomorrow to phone customer services and i doubt i will even get it today either (14th) if its still in 'hub 3 - Birmingham'! Not only did i not receive my item, i didnt receive any information, no one at DPD thought 'oh this parcel has not left the facility and it should of been delivered by now!' and sent me a message/email/text/phonecall telling me that there was a problem. I will demand a refund as you are breaching the contract of us paying for a service which you are not providing. Once I get my package I will never be using DPD again .
**Update 14th** - so I phoned the customer services and I asked them what was going on and they said that it has been scanned through that its going to the depot. (not on the tracking information it's not) and she then blammed the sender by saying that they only just received the package awhile ago which is Lies because on the tracking they received the package at 5:20pm on monday the 12th and so they said to me that I will receive it within the next 2 days..............What?!? I said how will i know when its getting sent and they said they will send me an email whenever its coming from the depot. I paid for NEXT DAY delivery! and i'm waiting over 3 days?! I could of just got it done by royal mail first class!! i'm going to phone them again later. They said its the senders responsibility that I have not received it on time.
**Update 14th** I phoned customer services again and they told me that because it's getting shipped to Northern ireland that the Next day delivery is impossible (Royal mail do it all the time with amazon) and that its a 2 day delivery, even though I paid for the next day costs.
**Update 14th** Got an update on my tracking saying that its 'out on delivery now' and that i should receive it today. If i do receive it today I will re-appoint my stars and give an overall positive review.
