Having been in London at least five times for pleasure over the years, until my visit during Her Majesty's Diamond Jubilee in June, I'd always felt a bit overwhelmed by the vastness of the city. I was also keenly aware of time wasted and money spent in procurring tickets, standing in lines, wondering how best to get to and from an interesting site or event, etc. Then I finally got smart, purchased a London Pass (with Travel, important), and conquered this grand adventure of a place. Moving to the head of long lines, from museums in the City to Windsor Castle, saved hours over a two week period, and zipping through the tube with my travel pass made it all seem easy and relaxing.
One word of advice: Be sure to have your pass mailed to you ahead of time, if you have time before traveling of course. The only negative to my London Pass experience was having to pick it up once I got into the City (thereby missing the first opportunity to use it on the train from Heathrow). The office near Trafalgar Square is cramped and I did have to wait a bit there, jet-lagged to boot!
