Rip-Off Britain truly does exist!

I've only recently needed specs and I have to say I was pretty shocked at the expense. Yes I was guilty of visiting one of the big high street names when I would normally favour a family run local business, so I probably brought it on myself!
After being suckered in to the whole "well if you go for the more expensive range then you get a second pair free" sales pitch, I left with a rather empty wallet and a second pair of prescription sunglasses that I've only worn twice!

I soon realised that a second pair of ordinary specs would have been a wiser choice so I could leave a pair at work, so I set about looking for a cheap second pair.
So after reading a fair bit on the good 'ol money Saving Expert website, I checked out a fair few of the recommended sites and decided that I would go for the one that had the cheapest. This was an experiment after all because I wasn't expecting much and thought that if the experiment failed then I was only out of pocket by £13, and that £13 included the delivery! So I opted for SelectSpecs as they offered the cheapest range and the selection was impressive.
The whole ordering process was very easy and I was immediately notified by e-mail that my order had been received and would be processed as soon as possible. The next e-mail I received was to say that they had been shipped and they would take between 7 & 14 days to be delivered. 5 days later they were with me and I have to say in all honesty, I was VERY impressed. The Quality is perfect, the fit is perfect and most important of all, the prescription was perfect.

I have now realised that I could really do with a 3rd pair and SelectSpecs is going to be my only port of call.
I certainly won't be suckered in by the big high street names again!
