After trying to buy online and the web site not accepting payment, delivery details etc, etc, etc after at least ten attempts I gave up. I then phoned the order through on Monday the 12th asking three times if items were all in stock. After being reassured that they were and the delivery will be with me no later than the 14th. Come the 15th no delivery I call Lawson HIS to be told that one item is currently out of stock and that they are waiting for this to come in before they dispatch the whole order. Eventually all items arrived on Friday the 16th which to their credit was a quick delivery time if it all came from Southampton but I fear that the one item that was out of stock came direct from the uk distributer to my address as they probably deliver direct rather than carry the stock.
Unfortunately this not the first time this has happened, when ordering from Lawson HIS. It is not the fact that the delivery is late, it is the fact that I have been told more than once that the item is in stock and it obviously not is not.
I am an advocate for supporting UK business and always try to use UK companies whenever I can even when it costs me slightly more than other supplies that are based outside the UK. But unfortunately in this case I am going to look elsewhere when buying power tools.
