need smaller fingers

I just got this pad and it has some great apps, BUT why does the screen take so long to notice what I'm trying to do? I only take a small size gloves but my fingers seem to be too large to fit! And playing mahjong is frustrating trying to get the tiles to select - are my fingers not warm enough? Really would welcome some sort of tool to make it easier .
