As a private seller, I have used Hermes Couriers on one or two occasions within the last 12 months to send e-bay items to purchasers without any resultant complaints.
However, my latest experience (within the current week) was anything but satisfactory.
I sold an item on a well-known second-hand website (not e-bay or Amazon) using Hermes for delivery.
They collected on the day stated, but I was contacted by the buyer in Andover yesterday who stated that the parcel arrived damaged and the electronic item DOA. The side and top of the item was adrift and distorted associated with having been dropped or crushed. The packaging was damaged underside too. I found out later they exclude electrical and electronic items from compensation claims along with a whole host of assorted items that, in effect, render their claims compensation provisions bogus.
My advise to the general public DO NOT USE
