Having booked through this website before, I booked accommodation for my daughter over New Year in Sydney. I paid the booking fee with my credit card, and expected, as laid out in the confirmation email, and during the booking process, that she would pay the balance when she got there (and after she gets paid!). However the hostel requires New Year bookings to be paid upfront by the end of November, which is tucked away on the hostel website, and not mentioned at all by Hostelbookers - nasty shock, and I think should be highlighted during the booking process. When I phoned they were completely uninterested and referred me to the hostel website. As long as they get their booking fee, I suppose that's the limit of their interest
