Before I go into more detail I want to point out that the customer service provided by SLR Hut has been fantastic in such that they do a very committed job at making sure every individual customer is happy and fulfilled with their order. I had some problems with my order however my overall impression is not sways as their handling of the situations far out shadows the disruptions that happened [namely due to hurricane sandy and a technical glich.
My order was delayed for two reasons; 1) as they needed to call me and check my address was correct....I wrote it on the site like I do on any online shop and so obviously it was correct. Anyway this caused a 2 day delay. Further delay [which was brought to my attention by their customer sales team] hurricane Sandy took out one of their distribution centers and so emergency adaptations had to be made.
When the sale man called to confirm my address is was clear that this call had an additional motive - to persuade me buy more. It was kind of like one long sales pitch, which I did not appreciate. My attempted to get a camera ordered hassle free and quickly though their site had been boycotted. Having told salesman that I did not appreciate time wasting the call ended. Two minutes later his superior called to apologies. It took a good few minutes to get the superior off the phone too, but he ended up upgrading my camera memory card to a 4gb card and gave me upgraded faster delivery as a way of apology. Again another sign of their fantastic customer service.
Since ordering I have received a total of 12 emails from them regarding my purchase. Many identical stating that my order has been shipped, but some of these emails were a week apart....which one am I meant to believe?! Post receiving my gorgeous new camera SLR got in contact to ensure I understood the reason for the emails. A technical glich has taken over and was sending out duplicates...they sincerely apologized and even said they would send me a free complementary replacement battery as a way of apology.
Anyway, my camera arrived 10 days after ordering [a 7-5 day delay due to Sandy] and I am happy with the product and free starter kite, and complementary upgraded memory card.
SLR is a great example of a company where somethings can go wrong on rare occasions, but they handle the problems well. They care about their customers and they do their damned best to make sure you are happy.
Would I shop again? Yes!
