I ordered an Xbox 360 console from Amazon on 19th November for collection at my local ColectPlus locker (10 minute walk away and open until 8pm). The item was dispatched on 20th November and was due for delivery on 21st November. Ideal as it was for a birthday present on 25th November.
Long story short; Yodel did not try to deliver; the parcel stayed at their hub (25 miles from the delivery address) for two days. When I called them (painful process) they said that the parcel had been delivered and gave me a confirmation number. I went to collect from CollectPlus but the parcel had not been delivered. I again called Yodel who then told me that the parcel had been returned to Amazon, without offering an explanation.
Both myself and Amazon proceeded to call Yodel to ask that my parcel be delivered. On both counts, Yodel refused, telling me that it had been returned to Amazon.
When I again tracked the parcel, it was still at Yodel hub in Borehamwood. Yodel would not consider redelivering the parcel, it was against their policy.
Yodel lied to me, saying that my parcel had been dleivered and then would not redeliver it, even though both the customer (me) and Amazon both requested it.
So, instead of a 25 mile delivery, Yodel have another 250 mile delivery to Amazon where the package will be sent straight back out on another 250 mile journey to Newton Abbot to be then sent out for delivery to me.
Update 6/12/2012 - After a full week of chasing Yodel and Amazon, neither could explain why Yodel did not deliver. Amazon finally agreed to reship the order and refunded the £4.99 I had paid for next day delivery (wow). That evening, I had an email from <external link removed> at 9pm saying that they had collected my parcel, which should be delivered between 9am-10am the next day. I received a text message at 8am stating that the driver would deliver between 9am-10am that morning. At 9.12am, the parcel arrived and I received an email a few minutes later ststing that it had been signed for by me! Use the professionals, Amazon!
