I received a text saying I had a delivery scheduled for Monday. Nothing arrived. I checked the website, and the reason was "Delivery attempt not successful"
I received a second text saying delivery was Tuesday. Nothing arrived in the scheduled time. I checked the website and again had "Delivery attempt not successful". After waiting in for two days I was rather annoyed.
I called the depo (using a third party website with the numbers).
They contacted the driver who "could not drive down my lane because it was dark, and he did not feel safe" and "he could not find my address". It is winter. The van has lights. The house is lit. I live in a tiny cul-de-sac with no street lighting and seven houses in it.
He said I could meet him at the end of my lane in 5 minutes.
I trudged out to the end of my lane.
The driver arrived.
He was surly and said he was "doing me a favour", and had "gone out of his way". To deliver my parcel. I was pretty short with him, pointing out that he was obliged to deliver it.
I said I was going to complain about his attitude and language. He replied "like that will make any difference" Then he called me "an sarcastic little bastard" and dumped my parcel in a puddle.
Any comments from DPD? Your web site has no ability to complain....
