Hollister stores in the UK are a lot darker and fragrant than those in the US. And of course much more expensive, as whatever it costs in dollars, it is the same in pounds, I mean if it is $50, it will be £50. I am not a teenager (but a mature woman) but I occasionally shop there because I am very small and skinny and their sizes are VERY petite. They sell jeans size 00 which fit me. Their hoodies stop at size L, which would be the equivalent to a UK M.
I have not had any weird or condescending look from the shop assistants (maybe because I go there with my daughter who looks about 14 but is a lot older.
The clothes are good quality, I cannot tell the difference between them and the Abercrombie & Fitch ones which are at least 15% more expensive. However, if you find that Hollister clothes are too small, you can buy more or less the same at A & F, as their sizing is more generous.
I don't want to buy online, as you have to pay £10 for the shipping. Fortunately I live in an area where I can get to a Hollister store.
I would recommend looking at the clothes online before going to a store, as in the UK the stores are so dark you cannot tell the true colours of the clothes, but I find that on the whole the website is fairly accurate.
I cannot comment on the sizing of the Dudes (guys), as I have never bought any.
The reason why I did not give 5 stars is because I find the clothes on the expensive side. Should they be the equivalent to the US, I would have given the full marks.
