Amazon

Nearly always spot-on

This is a review for the trial of Amazon Prime I had over Christmas. Nearly all the things I bought turned up within three days, which is pretty good, but they do promise next day delivery (if ordered early enough) and only a few of my many, many items actually came the following day. Amazon claim this is because it's Royal Mail or somesuch, but it feels a bit cheeky to blame someone else. I'm not sure I'd pay for Amazon Prime if that's the level of service I get, but usual Amazon service is very good, very courteous and they have a massive selection of items.

DPD UK

Delivery was late and then they lied to me

I received a 'while you were out' card from DPD which is fair enough as I wasn't expecting a parcel (my surprise christmas present!) so I went online and paid £6 to be upgraded to a 'before 12' service the following day. I waited and I waited, not going away from the sound of the doorbell. At 12.10 I emailed the company to say it hadn't arrived. At 12.15 the man shoved the parcel at me, made me sign the form and then ran off. I put '12.15' in the delivery time box.

The next day DPD sent me a bog-standard "I'm sorry, but according to our records your parcel was delivered by 12. Don't bother us again." type email. I replied to that saying no, it wasn't. They replied with an IDENTICAL email. I got a bit cross. I know it's only 15 minutes and it's only £6 but they called me a liar and I don't like that. They claim that they are unable to check the bit of paper I signed, or send me a copy, until it's been authorised by the company supplying the parcel. I don't want to get them involved since they have been nothing but lovely to me. I just hate the arrogance and downright nastyness of DPD.

Webtogs

Lives up to its online reputation

I was doubtful that any company could live up to such a glowing reputation as webtogs seems to have online, but I was very, very happy to find that they did. Lucy answered my email immediately (I asked for a recommendation for a shoe and she replied with a detailed, personal response that answered all my questions), my shoes arrived the next day, when phoned to order a different size to try there were no hassles at all. In fact, despite me phoning after the 2pm postage deadline Lucy ran to the warehouse to get them dispatched to me that day. Even my postman was impressed when he delivered the new pair the next morning.

I couldn't recommend this company highly enough. Efficient, easy, honest and above all FRIENDLY and PERSONAL, webtogs is about the best for customer service you could ever hope to encounter.
