As a valued customer I would just like to take the opportunity to explain why we are unable to accept faxed or emailed prescriptions.

Back in May our website was one of just a handful of UK sites to be endorsed by the government run Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD). In response to consumer’s worries and bad experiences, the VMD wanted to provide genuine websites that abide by their guidelines for good practice to receive an endorsement to serve as an indicator to the customer that they are shopping from a genuine website.

One such guideline is that we can only accept genuine hard copy prescriptions. This is to ensure that the prescription is bona fide and not altered in any way or sent multiple times to multiple websites, which despite being illegal, is practised by a small number of people. The VMD and our company very much support this guideline as ultimately it is responsible dispensing and protects the welfare of the animal.

I hope that you can appreciate that we do everything we can to make the process of ordering as efficient as possible, however at the same time we have to ensure the safety of the animals we are dispensing prescription medicines to.
