Charter house are a good company. The only gripe I had was with their chosen delivery company PDP. They gave me a delivery time slot of 2:30pm to 3:30pm which I made sure I was in for. However I then received a text telling me they had already been but there was no card through my door. I don't entirely believe they actually did try to deliver to my house. I then had quite a hassle trying to arrange redelivery because I didn't have this card via their premium 084 telephone number where you can't talk to a real human, only automated messages. NOT Charterhouse's fault at all but if this experience is common perhaps they need a word with their chosen delivery firm.
We bought a Wowcher deal for a weeks accommodation in Tenerife, we PAID IN FULL & then booked the dates we would be staying. We later got an email from the Tenerife company Petchey Leisure (not Wowcher) demanding we give them our flight details just in case we did not turn up. As we have not booked our flights yet we could not give the information. More importantly as we have already PAID IN FULL for our accommodation what difference did it make??? Anyway they then told us they were canceling our accommodation & keeping all of our money. My partner then emailed Wowcher who responded with:
"It appears that when you first booked your accommodation, you would have been sent a Reservation Confirmation to this email address advising you of the fact that you need to let the company have your flight details at least 90 days before you travel."
So Wowcher are saying that it was AFTER we bought & PAID IN FULL for the deal & booked the accommodation we were then informed of the fact we needed our flight information. Wowcher then went on to say:
"The details on the original Wowcher deal were correct and you would have had to conform to any further Ts & Cs that were enforced by Petchey Leisure."
So this means that we basically signed a blank cheque & AFTER signing up to the deal, Petchy Leisure had the rite to then make up any rules they wanted & if we couldn't comply with then we lose all of our money??? We will now be complaining to the Advertising Standards Authority as the matter has really spoiled our holiday before we have even gone & we hardly ever, ever get to go away :-(
