We paid for a sofa 9 months ago and still have no idea if/when it will be delivered.
As the sofa was due to deliver just before Christmas, we arranged for our old sofa to be removed on the same day. The World Stores delivery drivers wouldn't wait for us to inspect the sofa when it arrived - upon unwrapping we found that the wrong product had been delivered (and in the wrong colour), but by that time the delivery drivers were long gone.
Even though I explained to World Stores that I was 39 weeks pregnant with 2 small children, their call centre staff refused to help, and sent a man to collect the sofa completely unannounced.
They re-delivered the sofa in February. This time it was the right colour, but again it was the wrong product (there was also a large tear in the fabric). We were told that we would have to wait another 12 weeks for the correct one to be delivered. At this point we asked World Stores to make a goodwill gesture but they refused and said they would not consider it until the correct sofa arrives.
A few weeks later World Stores informed us that the colour we ordered back in September 2012 had been discontinued and we would have to wait another few weeks to find out which colours would be available.
When we did get a chance to choose a new colour, we were told we would have to wait another 12 weeks from that day for delivery.
As of today, nine months after paying, we still have no idea when we are going to receive it. If you’re reading this and are thinking of using World Stores, don’t make the same mistake we did – use someone else!
