I already have a pair of Berghaus Deluge Waterproof trousers that I use for winter hiking. Great waterproof product that folds neatly into my back pack; when required, can unzip all the way up each leg to get on over your boots. A mate of mine also has some and uses them on his motorcycle. Thought it time my wife was brought up to standard, but found that some suppliers didn't declare the leg length; my wife is on the short side. Shopped around and found Simply Hike to provide detailed size information and a cheap price. No problem with purchase or delivery.
Due to non-delivery of goods and the subsequent poor continuity of ‘customer service’, I would never use them again.
On 28 November 2012 I ordered an SD card for a camera that I had purchased as a Christmas present. Standard delivery was promised at 3 to 5 days. By 9 December the goods had not arrived. In follow up e-mail exchanges I advised that this was for a Christmas present, but was required by MM to wait 21 days whilst Christmas drew worryingly closer. On 14 Dec I notified them that as the goods had not been delivered, I would have to purchase a replacement from an alternative supplier, and would require a refund. With no sign of the MM SD card, the alternative supplier delivered a card within 48 hours at no extra cost.
On 21 December MM promised to resolve my claim for refund ‘….. as a matter of priority’. By 8 Jan I had had heard no more from MM. However, the original order arrived through the post on this day! When with honesty on 9 Jan I notified MM, they in reply asked me to return this via Freepost , but with no mention of my promised refund. When I enquired what had happened to this, they stated that the refund had not been processed and instead should keep the [now surplus] SD card.
No priority! No refund ! I decided not to waste any more time on them.
Lessons learnt from JOAG. READ THE BAD REVIEWS AS WELL AS THE GOOD! ALWAYS USE A CREDIT CARD WITH PROTECTION SERVICE OR PAYPAL. JOAG’s reputation seems to be based on the supply of low value goods/services and not the higher value items widely publicised on their website. Camcorder, DSLR and XBox customers I suspect all have a similar experience. JOAG will answer your enquiries courteously, accept your order, and take your money very quickly! Surprise, surprise, 5 days later your goods are no longer in stock. Take my advice, CANCEL IMMEDIATELY and request a refund. Make sure this is via their website link addressed to “Account & Refunds”. The quickest you’ll get your money back is two weeks, in the meantime you’ll have created a generous cash flow for JOAG for an item that they never had in stock. The time taken to return your money is dependent on a tendency towards impatience.
