No communication, no delivery

Got email and text on 5th saying delivery confirmed for 7th, checked on website on 6th to see that parcel was at Birmingham hub on 5th, all good I thought. So 7th came, no txt or email with timeslot as promised, no big deal I thought, as sometimes systems don't work as they should. Website tracking was not updated until about 5pm to say it had been received at local depot at 12:20. Finally found a contact number to phone and got through to an advisor. After he spoke to depot he told me initially that they didn't get parcel until this morning, bit of a change after I said I was looking at the tracking online and could see it was picked up on the 5th. Apparently all that can be done is redelivery on the 10th (Mon), as my local depot does not do Saturday deliveries, which I find very unusual especially at this time of year.

To be fair the advisor was very understanding and helpful.

So DPD how are you going to compensate me for taking a day off work for non delivery as promised?
